HOLLAND, MICH (May 11, 2018) – The Holland Museum is proud to announce the History Mystery 2nd Annual Trivia Night FUNraiser on April 19 was a success. Over 200 attendees had a great time playing three rounds of history trivia, eating food from Wild Hog, delicious treats from deBoer’s Bakkerij, and sipping wine from Big E’s. Prizes for the winning tables included gifts donated from The Holland Peanut Store, Apothecary, Crust 54, Curragh, Decadent Dogs, Fustini’s, Hops, Teerman’s, Cherry Republic, and BAM!.

The evening was emceed by Gene Parker, who can be heard regularly on the Pledge Radio Station. Centerpiece activities encouraged guests to create two or three-legged chairs from recycled materials. This innovative activity is closely tied to the upcoming Smithsonian Institute Spark!Lab exhibition, opening at the Holland Museum August 3.

The event raised over $13,000 for the Holland Museum. Event sponsors Elzinga & Volkers, Kennari Consulting, Macatawa Bank and Schreur Printing all had a question in the trivia rounds related to their business history.

Executive Director Ricki Levine said, “It was a fun, entertaining and educational evening. Everyone seemed to be having a blast! We are grateful to all the area businesses who donated or sponsored the event, to our table hosts and to everyone who attended.”

Stay tuned. The Holland Museum is planning the third iteration of Trivia Night for some time next year.
