Preserving Our Stories: History of the Dykstra Funeral Home – Virtual Fall Fundraiser, 2021

Join the Holland Museum’s second virtual fundraiser in our series celebrating the rich history of Holland’s businesses and families who make our community unique. This event celebrates the Kleinheksel family of Dykstra Funeral Home and over 120-years of history in the Holland community.

Attendees will receive a custom gift bag filled with local specialties as they learn about this exceptional family, and the challenges and opportunities they experienced over the years. The evening will become part of the Museum collection, and proceeds raised will provide resources to strengthen and expand the Museum’s education and outreach work with local educators and schools.

Meet the Kleinheksel Family

The Kleinheksel family has served our community with dignity, kindness, and compassion for over 120 years with four West Michigan chapels. During this virtual event, you will hear stories from three generations of the Kleinheksel’s. You will experience a premiere video with a multi-generation interview, personal photographs and artifacts, and a live Q&A with members of the family. The video will become part of the Museum collection, preserved for future generations.
