Dutch Colonial
This house is one of the only Dutch Colonials in the neighborhood. Dutch Colonial is a very common house type on the east coast, where there is a large dutch population. Colonials are characterized by being incredibly symmetrical, paired windows with shutters, and an elaborate front entry. These homes have a gambrel roof (gambrel - pentagonal barn shaped roof). In 1940, this home first belonged to A Rudolph & Jean M Nichols. He is a physician and surgeon in the Model Drug building at 33 W 8th St.
