About Elizabeth J. Chivis (Whitepigeon)

Hello, My name is Elizabeth J. Chivis (Whitepigeon). My spirit name is Warm Rain, I am Eagle Clan of the Potawatomi and Chippewa nations, and I am a citizen of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan.

I am also a ahead woman for my Whitepigeon family and was raised within the traditional community and culture of the Native Americans in the Great Lakes.

I received my formal education studying Education, Business, and Political Science. I was the Cultural Teacher for the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal School for seven years and developed the cultural curriculum and annual cultural activities for over 300 students. Also, I am currently the Executive Board Treasurer for our congregation of the Midewiwin Mide Widjig.
