Indigenous Footprints: A Journey with American Indians in Michigan
Did you know that there are 12 federally recognized Native American Indian Tribes in the State of Michigan? Join Nancy Lori, the DAR’s State Chair for American Indians, for a program overviewing of the history of American Indians in Michigan from the time of the Great Migration Walk, encounters with the French and British, the signing of various treaties, and what is occurring in the present time. Follow the “indigenous footprints” of those who were here from the beginning.
This program is in partnership with the Zeeland Historical Society and part of our America 250 Program series.
