HOLLAND —
Six interns at Holland Museum will host a presentation about their experience later this week.
The interns are part of the organization’s Summer Intern Council, working in collections, exhibitions, communications and more.
The presentation will take place 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at 31 W. 10th St. As part of the event, interns will discuss their exhibit “Cabinets of Curiosities: The Origins of the Modern Museum,” which opens in the lobby gallery the same evening.
The exhibit will be on view until January 2024, and will highlight different unique artifacts from the museum’s collection. Themes include Artificialia (man-made objects), Scientifica (tools for science), and Naturalia (items from nature).
“We are so excited to use the skills we have developed over the summer to create an educational and entertaining exhibition for the community to enjoy,” said intern Emily Leegwater. “It has been a lot of work, but every minute is worth the end result.”
Other members of the council include Jaer Medina, Sofia Biriouk, Wyatt Wilcox, Kaelin Hardenburgh and Maddalena Frissora.
