Holland Museum hosted its first virtual fundraiser with the Holland Peanut Store on May 20 and surpassed their goal by 100% with the support of members, donors, new supporters, and sponsors.

“The Museum is excited to announce the success of our first virtual fundraiser,” says Executive Director, Ricki Levine. “Working with the Fabiano family to preserve their history and the rich culture established by their local business has been a delight. We hope everyone will enjoy the family’s story of perseverance and creativity.”

History buffs, both local and afar, were invited to explore unique stories from Holland’s past and connect to our future. Participants enjoyed delicious treats from Holland Peanut Store while supporting education programs serving local youth.

The evening was hosted by Mayor Nathan Bocks and featured a video history of Holland Peanut Store. The Fabiano’s have captured hearts (and sweet tooths) for nearly 120 years with businesses including Holland Peanut Store. Attendees heard stories from patriarch Paul Fabiano and fourth and fifth generation family members. Fabiano family members, Sarah Porebski and Samantha Stille-vonWebsky also participated during a live Q & A.

The Museum was thrilled to have the support of 17 sponsors for the evening. Legacy Sponsors: Gentex Corporation, Jim & Carol Stroop Curiosity Sponsors: Horizon Bank, Menasha Corporation, Worksighted Heritage Sponsors: A.D. Bos, Scott & Natalie Bernecker, Coldwell Banker/Andrea Hemmelgarn, DeNooyer Chevrolet, Dykstra Funeral Home, Freedom Village, Muto Family, Remax/Heather Davis, Schreur Design Print and Mail, Trendway, VanWieren Hardware, and Watermark Insurance Services.

With the success of the event, the Museum plans to host another Preserving Our Stories fundraiser later this fall. To view the event, visit the Museum’s website. www.hollandmuseum.org
