Threads of Change
Fast Fashion and Responsible Consumerism
Join the ODC Network and the Holland Museum for an exciting evening focusing on how fast fashion and our clothing choices shape the planet!
Did you know that 33% of clothes are sent to landfills within a year of purchase and that a single garment is commonly worn as few as 7 times? At first glance, that seems surprising, right? But in reality, it reflects the rapid cycle of today’s fashion industry.
We’ll dive deeper into this topic at “Threads of Change!” To start, we’ll learn more unexpected truths behind well-known fast fashion brands. We’ll then discuss the resources needed to make and sell these clothes to the general public. To conclude, we’ll wrap up with simple, inspiring ways to rethink our closets, reduce waste, and become conscious consumers. But don’t worry–we can do it without losing our sense of style!
