Indigenous Footprints: A Journey with American Indians in Michigan
Did you know that there are 12 federally recognized Native American Indian Tribes in the State of Michigan? The April 2026 program featured Nancy Lori, the DAR’s State Chair for American Indians, presenting an overview of Indigenous history in Michigan, including migration traditions, encounters with the French and British, treaties, and contemporary issues. Follow the “indigenous footprints” of those who were here from the beginning.
This program is in partnership with the Zeeland Historical Society and part of our America 250 Program series.
