
June 30, 2020: After four months of closure due to COVID-19, the Holland Museum is thrilled to announce that they will reopen for Members only on Saturday, July 11 and to the general public on Monday, July 13.
To keep staff, volunteers, and visitors safe, the Museum has new policies and procedures in place. The Museum is asking visitors to wear a mask or face covering. Museum staff and volunteers will wear masks to protect visitors and each other. Please maintain a six-foot distance from anyone not in your own household. Wash your hands often. Hand sanitizer will be available in the Museum. Please visit another time if you are sick.
“This has been a difficult time for our country and our community,” says Executive Director, Ricki Levine. “We are beyond excited to open our doors and provide the opportunity to reengage, explore and learn. We look forward to sharing the stories of Holland with our members, community members and visitors.”
The Museum has new hours in order to accommodate more visitors. Monday, Friday and Saturday 10:00am-5:00pm. It will host Free Second Mondays from 4:00-7:00pm monthly, sponsored by The Meijer Foundation. Monday mornings from 10-11:30, we invite members of the public who are unable to wear masks due to Medical reasons to visit. Other members of their party are required to wear a mask to protect other visitors, staff and volunteers.
Due to the hand-on activities of the exhibit, the Smithsonian Spark!Lab will still be temporarily closed.
The Museum is keeping up with federal, state, and local laws and initiatives, following updates from the Alliance of American Museums, and proactively educating our staff and volunteers about COVID-19, including transmission and prevention. Our rotating exhibit, Heinz in Holland: A Story with Heart, has been extended through September 12. The summer walking tours have gone virtual and are accessible on our Tours web page.
