Carriage Barn to Garage

Carriage barns were common for people who owned multiple horses. They would store hay on the second floor of the structure which is why there is a door. Many people converted their carriage barns to garages with the invention of cars in the late 1800s. The clipped ends of the roof are called jerkinheads.
