HOLLAND, MI – Add the name of Holland Museum to that of entities along the Lakeshore looking for a new leader in 2024.
On Tuesday, Ricki Levine announced her intention to retire as Executive Director of the museum, effective on June 30th. Since coming south from Muskegon seven years ago, where she had been managing director of the Frauenthal Center, and during her tenure at West 10th Street and River Avenue, the museum was reaccredited by the Alliance of American Museums, unveiled the SparkLab exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution, expanded programming and exhibits, and developed a five-year strategic plan aimed at guiding the future of the institution comprehensively.
“Leading the Holland Museum during this transformative journey has been an immense privilege. I am deeply grateful to the staff, board, and community for their unwavering support in making our vision of inclusivity a reality. Together, we have accomplished so much, but the groundwork is laid for an even brighter future, said Ricki Levine.”
The Museum’s board has created a search committee to look for Levine’s replacement, retaining interSector Partners to help in the process. Her retirement announcement comes one day after Ottawa County Sheriff Steve Kempker made a similar decision on his future, and follows retirement plans declared over the past six week by Ottawa County Prosecutor Lee Fisher, Ottawa County Treasurer Amanda Price, and 20th Circuit Court Probate Judge Mark Feyen.
