Entry into Spark!Lab is free with admission into the Holland Museum and is included with the Holland Museum membership packages.

HOLLAND, Mich., October 19, 2018Watch Jennifer Pascua from WZZM 13, as she visits the Holland Museum’s Spark!Lab, an interactive space that let’s kids be inventors in a space featuring hands-on activities for children to discover, learn and invent.

Ricki Levine, Holland Museum Executive Director said,

“As the third and final Spark!Lab to open in Michigan, we’re honored to serve all of West Michigan and the Lakeshore.”

According to Levine,

“Spark!Lab is ideal for children 6 to 12 years old, the space is designed for both families and classrooms. Participants can modify the activities for both adults and young children.

Trained docents will guide participants through the invention process with activities like “Shaping Shoes”, where children are encouraged to prototype a shoe using provided materials, or “High Wire Driver”, where participants use a variety of building materials and simple motors to invent devices that can roll along a suspended cable.”

Visitors can work through the activities at their own pace, taking as much or as little time as they would like. Spark!Lab is open specific times during regular museum hours, so families may explore the museum and come back to tackle another activity.

Spark!Lab will feature three or four rotating activities every three months, so guests will experience new activities each time they visit.”
