The Upstairs Nursery

When Isaac Cappon died in 1902, the five children of his second wife ranged from one to ten years of age. The children used this room for play. Toys found in the Cappon House and from the Holland Museum collection are displayed here. The curtains are reproductions of original dotted swiss curtains and hang from original curtain rods. The wallpaper is a reproduction of a late 1800s pattern from a house in Marshall, Michigan. At other times in the home’s history, this room was used as a bedroom.
